Settings for tcp_fin_timeout tcp_keepalive_time

We got an email last night from a fellow reader asking what tcp_fin_timeout and tcp_keepalive_time we are usually using from small to medium blogs.

At this time, we keep the following settings:

net.ipv4.tcp_fin_timeout = 60
net.ipv4.tcp_keepalive_time = 60

    i have a website with 50.000 visit per day and 10mbps of bandwidth, this settings are good for this traffic? thanks!

  2. http guy says:

    Yes and now. Every case is a bit different, but in general you should be set. Remember that using a front-end proxy / load balancer like Nginx will manage better concurrent connections and using much less load.
    May I ask you what is the keepalive setting in your Apache config?
